WARNING: The upcoming information & photo’s may induce increased appetite, drooling, and potential manic cravings of red meat!
This is one of my favorite posts, likely due to how absolutely amazing I think AmericanQ is since visiting last week! From the crafted cocktails to the amazing desserts I am a HUGE fan and think you will be too!
My husband and I are both big red meat eaters, so I was excited to hear that AmericanQ is actually a modern BBQ Rodizio concept that features a dozen regions AND they support local farmers!
Before we get into the food details, lets talk about this beautiful 50s style themed farmhouse!
Located in the new B Resort, AmericanQ opened in August 2014 & boasts over 5,480 square feet of incredible interior design details!
When you walk in you’re immediately welcomed into a completely transformed industrial country-style setting! There are multiple seating options that range from a communal table to booths and a semi-private dining room seating 40. All set amidst the charm of a distressed brick smokehouse, a barn-inspired wood-clad bar and mason jar chandeliers.
The focal point of the restaurant (it’s incredibly hard to miss) is the visual star, a ’51 cherry red Ford F1 pickup truck sitting front and center with its flatbed doubling as a starter buffet (a delicious starter buffet may I add)!
After we were seated I had the chance to chat a few minutes with AmericanQ Executive Chef Justin Leo where I found out some incredible details about the restaurant that make my love for the establishment grow even fonder!
They have over 50 Whiskeys at the bar for their craft cocktails, and they actually make all of their simple syrups for their drink mixers! We had the opportunity to taste a few of their delicious craft cocktails (and a craft beer on nitro!).
We tried AmericanQ’s signature appetizers to start the evening off right! They offer the absolute most tasty item that they call “swine candy” ! OH YEA! This little cup of sweetness is ridiculous! It’s smoked bacon roasted with molasses and spice…and it seriously as amazing as it sounds! We also sampled the House Made Tater Tots (their ketchup is made in house using agave instead of fructose corn syrup) and Deviled Crab-Stuffed Eggs with blue crab and remoulade.
All of their delicious meats are Florida grassfed, hormone free beef (providing a delicious dense texture). Their pork is from Summer Field Farm from pasture fed pigs, the chicken are free range, and they have partnerships for all produce to come from local farmers. It’s even incredible how they cook the meat, using pecan wood for smoking and oak for the grill.
The best deal (which is what we did) is the Flatbed Buffet! For $34.95 per person, you can indulge in an all-you-can-eat barbecue journey. You get access to more than 20 selections from the flatbed, which highlight Florida’s fresh produce, specifically micro-greens, lettuce and tomatoes. House made specialties impress with daily soup and chili, a baked potato bar, made-from-scratch sides like Spinach Gratin and House Apple & Caraway Slaw as well as a touch of the south with Gulf peel & eat shrimp!
Now for the best part! The rodízio parade of barbecue meats and poultry! The selection is incredible offering endless selections of Slow Smoked Turkey Drum, Cold Smoked & Grilled Turkey Thigh with Turkey Chorizo Stuffing, Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Chicken Thighs, House Made Sausages, Smoked Pork Shoulder, Texas Bark Beef Brisket, Picanha of Beef, Carolina Style Flank Steak and Vegetable Brochette.
Javi & I both looking at each other and came to the conclusion that these were some of the best tasting meats that we have EVER had! And the chorizo (OMG!)
I think we had the “More Q” sign flipped to ON the entire time…our rodizio man Marques was amazing (all the staff were incredible & friendly) but we had a great time listening to Marques chat about each meat & the local farm that it came from. We also had a dare about how many I would actually be able to try before I couldn’t eat anymore! 😉
AmericanQ kept the personal touches & amazing details going including a baked-to-order cornbread skillet, which is included complimentary with the buffet, and four house made sauces, highlighting namesake barbecue regions including Kansas City, Carolina, Texas Mustard and for the Latin American inspiration, a Mango Heat…and the steel sauce container is even custom made especially for the restaurant!
Now, I can’t believe that we actually had room to try a few bites of dessert BUT I didn’t know how I could say no the the S’mores pie! The dessert was just as decadent and divine as I imagined.
I’m pretty sure they had to roll us out to the car! I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much in my life!
Overall, I was so incredibly impressed with AmericanQ! We have visited other local rodizio style restaurants and this one is BY FAR the most delicious and also budget friendly! Every selection on the menu was incredible and I cannot wait to go back and bring family and friends!
So, tell me! What is your favorite meat that you’d like to try here at AmericanQ? Comment below!
